The exercise is intended to track ongoing projects, monitor progress of work and evaluate implementation.

The DPCU is made up of heads of departments and selected unit heads of the Assembly.

In an interview, District Development Planning Officer Mr. Nicolas Aboagye said the monitoring is expected to be conducted quarterly to evaluate all projects awarded to contractors by the Assembly.

Six communities were visited during the exercise. About four of the projects have been completed and are awaiting handover by contractors to the Assembly and the beneficiary communities.

The projects visited were in the education and health sectors. They include:

· Completion of one 3-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Mo-Nkkwanta by Maazozo Company Ltd.

· Completion of a CHPS compound with attached two-bedroom staff quarters at Weila by M/S Jowalisa Company Ltd.

· Construction of a KG block with office, eatery and washroom at Bosomkrom by M/S Supermakus Enterprise.

· Construction of one 6-unit classroom block with offices, store and library at Ayorya by Slima Rosa Enterprise.

· Construction of one CHPS compound with two bedrooms at Hyireso by Febirimoore Ventures.

· Construction of one CHPS compound with two bedrooms at Attakrom by Slima Rosa Enterprise.

The exercise forms part of the Assembly’s efforts to ensure value for money, accountability and timely delivery of development projects.
