Tano S. Assembly confirms MCE

In the first bid of the conformation process, Hon. Frimpong obtained 100% majority as he secured 56 votes out of the 56 assembly members with a YES vote to confirm his nomination.
The confirmation saw in attendance dignitaries include, the Regional Minister, Hon. Charity Gardiner, Hon. Member of Parliament for Tano South, Hon. Charles Asiedu, Nananom, heads of department, security services, and members of the general public.
The newly elected Presiding Member, Hon Kusi Amponsah expressed gratitude for the successful election and congratulated the newly appointed Assembly Members.
He emphasized the importance of endorsing the President’s nominee, Mr. Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong, as the Municipal Chief Executive and urged stakeholders to support the effective operationalization of the seven Zonal Councils to deepen local governance and improve revenue mobilization.
Hon. Isaac Kusi Amponsah also highlighted the need to reconstitute the five Statutory Sub- Committees due to the swearing-in of new Assembly Members and requested that members submit their curriculum vitae for consideration.
He addressed concerns about the non-payment of End of Service Benefits to former Assembly Members, assuring that he would work with management to ensure timely payment.
The Municipal Chief Executive elect, Hon. Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong, delivered a heartfelt speech expressing gratitude to Almighty God, and also to the President, H.E John Dramani Mahama for the nomination, as well as the Honorable Assembly Members for their support.
He emphasized that his administration will ensure unity, transparency, and inclusivity, pledging to prioritize infrastructure development, public services, youth empowerment, and education, health, and sanitation improvements.
Hon. Kwame Frimpong promised to lead with openness and integrity, ensuring citizen participation in governance and collaborating with Assembly staff to deliver with urgency and efficiency.
Mr. Frimpong called for unity for development and prosperity of the municipality.
The Member of Parliament for Tano South Municipality, Hon. Charles Asiedu, thanked participants for a successful meeting and urged the people of Tano South to put aside partisanship and work together to achieve a better Tano South that everyone desires.
He highlighted the need for the MCE and the newly elected assembly members to work closely with Nanamon for their help and support.
Hon. Asiedu also commended the Assembly Members for their unanimous decision and encouraged them to continue working collaboratively with the Municipal Chief Executive and other stakeholders.
