The event, held at the Asunafo South District Assembly Conference Hall in Kukuom brought together over 50 women from various backgrounds, including market women, tailors, hairdressers, and persons living with disabilities.
The program's objective was to empower these women with practical knowledge of the rule of law and the fight against corruption. Mrs. Benazi Beatrice, the NCCE's District Director, emphasized the importance of educating women on their rights and responsibilities.
She encouraged them to share their real-life experiences and to be strong advocates against corruption in their communities.
Mr. Francis Kofi Amponsah, an Assistant Information Officer for Asunafo South, added that the district's development relies heavily on the active participation of all citizens, particularly women. He noted that informed women can make informed decisions and contribute significantly to the fight against corruption.
In a show of commitment to fairness and justice, Mr. Omane Michael, the District CHRAJ boss, assured the women that his office would investigate complaints of injustice and unfair treatment. He emphasized that CHRAJ is dedicated to promoting and enhancing public delivery in Asunafo South, particularly for women.
The District Police Inspector, Mrs. Dzotepe Dorcas, urged the women to exercise patience and report criminal cases to the police. However, she also encouraged them to speak up and demand accountability from their leaders. She reiterated the police's commitment to fighting corruption and promoting transparency and accountability in Asunafo South. Through this initiative, the NCCE has taken a significant step towards empowering women in the district to become active participants in promoting good governance and accountability. By working together, the community can build a brighter future for all.
