Atiwa West District Assembly organizes clean-up exercise

The Atiwa West District Assembly as part of activities to mark this year’s 66th Independence Day Anniversary Celebration last Friday, March 3,2023 organized a clean-up exercise.

The exercise, which started at 60 :30 am throughout the district, lasted for almost five hours with all shops and markets closed to pave way for a successful clean up exercise.

Participants, including personnel from the Ghana Police Service, staff of the Assembly, personnel from zoomlion, property owners, traders, social clubs and residents swept, removed debris from gutters and cleared the weeds.

Talking to the media on the sideline of the event, the District Chief Executive Mr. Seth Asante indicated that the assembly was determined to stop the untidy conditions in the district and appealed to the residents to take interest in the exercise.


He urged the people to unite and strengthen their communal spirit for the betterment of their environmental health.

In a related development the Atiwa West District Directorate of Education on the same day held a pre- independence march past at Kwabeng Presby park for learners at the early grade (KG 1 to Basic 3).

The aim of the programme was to unearth the potentials of the children and to build their confidence at tender age as well as expose the schools to the communities

A total of 9 schools drawn for both public and private schools took part in the pre-independence march past. The participating schools were; Advent Preparatory School, Kwabeng Zion, Opoku Ware, Kwabeng R/C, Perseverance Preparatory School, Kwabeng Presby, Kwabeng Angliacn School, Kwabeng Islamic and Pentecost Preparatory School.
