ADMINISTRATIVE GOVERNANCE

The administrative head of the District is the District Chief Executive appointed by the President with approval of not less than two thirds majority of the members of the District Assembly present and voting at meeting.  There are also elected and appointed assembly members who serve in different sub-committees of the Assembly amongst other roles. The Assembly has eleven (11) elected Assembly Members and five (5) government appointees sworn into office.

The District has 53 bureaucratic staff strength headed by a Coordinating Director and undertaking day to day administrative activities.

THE STATE AND FUNCTIONALITY OF SUB-DISTRICT STRUCTURES.

The District has two Area councils namely, Akrofuom and Amponyase Area Councils.
