Birim Central Assembly inspects ongoing maize plantation under feed-Ghana initiative

The Birim Central Municipal Assembly has re-affirmed its commitment to boosting food security as officials undertook a field visit to inspect an ongoing maize plantation project at Yeboahkrom.

The visit, led by the Municipal Agric director, and his team, forms part of the Assembly’s efforts to monitor progress under the Government’s Feed Ghana Initiative.

The purpose of the exercise was to observe firsthand the stages of cultivation and assess the overall condition of the crops. Agric officers provided comprehensive updates on the project, highlighting the various interventions currently being implemented to improve productivity and ensure a successful harvest.

During the engagement, it was emphasized that the government remains fully committed to strengthening food security and increasing domestic agricultural production.

Authorities also encouraged the youth to take an active interest in farming, describing it as a viable path to employment and economic empowerment.

The inspection exercise reflects the Assembly’s collective resolve to drive sustainable agriculture and contribute to national efforts aimed at achieving food sufficiency through the Feed Ghana Initiative.
