The ceremony, held at the Ejura Camp Prison grounds, brought together traditional authorities, municipal leadership, and senior officials from the Ghana Prisons Service. The project aims to alleviate a critical housing shortage for prison officers deployed to the area.

Ejurahene Barima Osei Hwedie II, in his address, underscored the community's commitment to supporting all security agencies. "The people of Ejura desire peace and protection. To achieve this, we must resource our security personnel," he stated.

He explained that the Prisons Service is a vital part of the municipality's internal security architecture, often participating in Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) meetings. "It is only right that we ensure these officers have a comfortable place to live and rest," he added.

The Chief highlighted the traditional council's ongoing support, having previously facilitated housing for the Military, Fire Service, Police Division, and Ghana Immigration Service.

The Director-General of Prisons, Mrs. Patience Boffoe-Bonnie (Esq.), welcomed the initiative, noting the immense strain on her officers. "For too long, our dedicated officers have endured the physical, financial, and emotional stress of commuting over 18 kilometers daily. This wonderful accommodation will relieve that burden," she said.

She was accompanied by a high-level team including DOP Millicent Owusu (Esq.), Director of Welfare and Inmates Treatment; DDP Janet Asabea, Head of Public Affairs; DDP James B. Mwinyelle (Ing.); the Ashanti Regional Prisons Commander, CSP Richard Bukari; and other regional and local officers.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Ejura Sekyedumase, Hon. Rafiu Adam Seidu, described the project as "overwhelming" and a testament to effective partnership. "My office and that of the Member of Parliament fully support this exemplary move by the Traditional Council. It is a direct investment in the security and stability of our municipality," he said.

The new housing block is expected to significantly improve the welfare of prison officers and enhance the overall operational efficiency of the Ejura Camp Prison.
