GPL: Accra Lions thump Kotoko, Hearts of Oak stumble in Dormaa

Accra Lions defeated Kumasi Asante Kotoko 3-0 in an outstanding match played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.

Goals from Jacob Awoutey Gildas, Yao Sokpoli and David Olubi Akintunde ensured victory for Accra Lions as they moved out of the relegation zone.

With the setback, Kotoko fell to third place, as they were overtaken by Bibiani Gold Stars, who defeated Bechem United 2-0.

 Aduana FC recorded a 2-0 win over Hearts of Oak at the Nana Agyeman Badu I park on Wednesday.

Sam Adams opened the scoring in the 37th minute before Abdel Bamba Latif added the second in the 89th minute.

Hearts has dropped to 7th in the table, while Aduana FC is 11th on the league table. FC Samartex 1996 continued their three-game unbeaten run after defeating Karela United 2-0 at home.

Godwin Sefah and Benedict Afful scored for the Timber giants as they recorded all three points to move up to 5th position.

Medeama SC's poor away form continued unabated after losing 1-0 at Heart of Lions at the Kpando Stadium.

Ebenezer Abban's solitary strike was able to secure all three points for Heart of Lions, who moved to fifth on the table, while Medeama are fourth.
