At Kormantse, the minister and the delegation, including the Odikro of Kormantse, Nana Kwansah Panyin III, and area assembly members, examined the cold store facility that has remained non-operational since its commissioning in 2016.

The Minister expressed concern over its current deteriorated condition, noting its unused capacity to store up to 160 metric tonnes of fish. The Odikro highlighted the inconvenience caused to locals, who must travel long distances to purchase fish due to the facility’s inactivity.

She pledged her ministry’s commitment to renovate and fully operationalize the cold store to benefit the local community.

At the Anomabo Fisheries College at Buranamoah, where ongoing construction work is progressing well, Madam Arthur praised the contractors for the swift and quality work and encouraged the contractor to continue this effort in order to meet project deadlines.

On his part, the MCE expressed gratitude to the minister and requested sustained support to ensure the cold store’s renovation and timely completion of the fisheries college.
