MCE Holds Talks with Drivers to Enhance Transport System

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Paul Osae Offei, has held a stakeholder meeting with taxi operators at the Aburi GPRTU No. 2 Station to discuss pressing transportation challenges within the municipality.

The engagement provided an opportunity for drivers to share concerns affecting their daily operations, safety, and service delivery. Issues relating to road safety, transport regulation, and infrastructure improvement featured prominently during the discussions.

Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Paul Osae Offei emphasized the Assembly’s commitment to finding practical and sustainable solutions to improve the transport sector within the municipality. He noted that both short-term and long-term interventions are being considered to enhance road safety, regulate transport activities, and improve infrastructure for the benefit of operators and commuters.

The discussions also underscored the importance of collaboration among stakeholders, including transport unions, drivers, and the Assembly, to ensure effective implementation of policies and lasting improvements in the sector.

Participants welcomed the initiative and expressed appreciation to the Assembly for creating a platform to engage directly with transport operators on issues affecting their work.

The meeting reaffirmed the Assembly’s determination to strengthen the transport system and promote a safer and more efficient environment for commuters and transport operators across the municipality.
