The presentation, made on Monday, August 25, 2025 forms part of the Assembly’s efforts to address infrastructural challenges facing schools in the district.
The items included 75 dual desks, 8 teachers’ tables, and chairs.
Speaking during a short ceremony at the forecourt of the Assembly, Hon Abubakar Sedik emphasised the government’s commitment to promoting quality education.
He noted that providing adequate furniture would not only enhance classroom comfort but also boost pupils’ concentration and academic performance in the educational sector of our District, including inadequate classroom blocks and teaching materials,” he said.

The Headteacher of Oyinanufo D/A JHS, Madam Josephine Amuzu, who received the furniture on behalf of the school, expressed gratitude to the DCE and the District Assembly for the timely support.
She said the gesture would help ease the burden of teachers who previously had to manage overcrowded classrooms.
Owusu Adu Yeboah, head of finance and administration of the education directorate, commended the Assembly and urged them to continue investing in education to secure a better future for children in the District.
Also at the ceremony were the District Coordinating Director, Paul Atsu Agebezudor, Nana Kweku Duah, District Finance Officer and some management members of the Assembly and the Education Directorate.
