Ghana bids farewell to remaining six patriots killed in the helicopter crash
Ghanaians today perform the final funeral rites of the remaining six individuals involved in the August 6, 2025 Military Helicopter crash that claimed the life of eight patriots of the country.

The eight including five government officials and three crew members were on official assignment in line with the fight against illegal mining when they met their untimely tragic death throwing the entire country into a state of mourning.
The departed included
1. Dr. Edward Omane Boamah – Minister for Defence
2. Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed – Minister for Environment, Science, and Technology, and Member of Parliament for Tamale Central
3. Alhaji Muniru Mohammed – Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator
4. Dr. Samuel Sarpong – Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)
5. Samuel Aboagye – Former Parliamentary Candidate
6. Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala – Pilot
7. Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu – Co-pilot
8. Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah – Crew member
Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed – Minister for Environment, Science, and Technology, and Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, and Alhaji Muniru Mohammed – Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator both of whom belong to the Islamic faith were earlier buried in line with Islamic Tradition.
The country has united in grief today Friday, August 15, 2025 in a state burial for the remaining six victims.
