Government releases GH?8.9 million to special schools – GES

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that the government has released all outstanding funds owed to special schools across the country.

A statement signed by Mr. Daniel Fenyi, Head of the GES Public Relations Unit, and copied to the Ghana News Agency, said a total of GH?8,989,866.00 has been disbursed, clearing all arrears.

 

The GES said the development underscored the government’s commitment to inclusive education and the welfare of learners with special needs.

 

“Management of GES acknowledges and appreciates the patience, resilience, and dedication of all heads, staff, and learners of Special Schools during the period of delay.

“We also commend the government for prioritising Special Needs Education,” the statement said.

 

It further affirmed GES’s commitment to working with all stakeholders to ensure “equitable and quality education for every learner, regardless of ability.”
