N JUABEN: Peter Konor, Assemblyman for Nyamekrom Electoral Area impacts lives

Good leaders are measured by the positive impacts their leadership have on the generality of the people they lead.

And the people of Nyamekrom Electoral Area in the New Juaben South Municipality have every reason to be proud of their Assemblyman, Honourable Peter Konor for his selfless efforts at ensuring that the inadequacies in his jurisdiction see some appreciable level of improvement.

Mr Konor, a teacher by profession and a musician, since becoming the Assemblyman for the area has strived to bring development to the people of Nyamekrom Electoral Area.

Notable among his efforts include;

• Lobbying for electrification project for Kwadwotenten,Koo Badu and Baakokrom communities,

• Construction of a chps centre at Nyamekrom.

• Construction of boreholes at Nyamekrom, Baakokrom and Koo Badu.

• Institution of Nyamekrom Annual Football Gala

• Annual socialization and for children.

. Pipe Borne water extension from Nyamekrom to Koo Badu.

However, an area that has witnessed a lot of improvement is the education sector probably because of his background as a teacher and his conviction that education is the greatest tool to ensuring accelerated development and eradicating poverty.

To ensure candidates for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Electoral Area grabs the skills to meet the requirements by the West African Examination Council (WAEC), and to build their confidence for the main examination in promoting and achieving quality education in the area, a mock examination was organized for both public and private pupils in the Electoral Area.

This singular gesture received a lot of commendation from parents whose children benefited from the program, particularly because it was the first time an Assembly Member has organized a mock to benefit their wards without paying a dime.

Mr Konor is hopeful the mock sponsorship programme help the students to excel in this year's Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

He, thus challenged teachers, parents as well as the community in general to put in their best in order to help improve the level of education to the benefit of the school children.

Hon. Konor has also initiated a programme to distribute exercise books, and other stationaries to students of which over hundred stationeries have been distributed free of charge to all candidate as well. Donations of computers, maker board, school drums have also been made by the Assemblyman to some Nana Oware Agyapong Municipal Assembly School.

Mr. Konor expressed gratitude to the people of Nyamekrom Electoral Area, Unit Committee members and opinion leaders for their cooperation and unconditional support towards this course. Also to the New Juaben Municipal Education Directorates especially the Municipal Director of Education, Mr. B. K Ofori, all the proud sponsors including Mr Atitso Alex, CEO of Great Grace Books and Stationery, Mr Michel Manu, Mr Enock Owusu Acheaw, and the management team for all their supports towards excellent education in the municipality.
