The distribution exercise took place at U-Mart Farms, where selected beneficiary households received the birds to commence poultry production as part of efforts to boost local poultry farming.

Leading the exercise, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Effah Osei Bonsu David, expressed satisfaction with the smooth implementation of the programme’s first phase. He emphasized that the initiative is not only about the distribution of birds but also aims at creating employment opportunities, empowering households, and reducing the country’s dependence on imported poultry products.

The MCE was supported by the Municipal Director of Agriculture, the Municipal Coordinating Director, and staff of the Assembly, who ensured that the process was transparent, efficient, and well-coordinated.

Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the Assembly and pledged to manage the birds responsibly to ensure the success of the programme. They were also encouraged to adhere to best practices in poultry management, including proper housing, feeding, and disease control, with ongoing technical support from agricultural extension officers.

The Assembly further extended its appreciation to the Department of Agriculture, U-Mart Farms, partner farmers, extension officers, beneficiary households, and the people of Kwahu South for their continued cooperation and support towards the success of the initiative.
