The DCE highlighted the difficulties in accessing essential services, disruptions to economic activities like farming and trade, and the discouragement of young people from returning home due to lack of infrastructure.
“I am very much concerned about the development of my people and also wory about how dilapidated the nature of the roads which is affecting almost every aspect of the districts.” DCE said.
Specifically, the DCE mentioned the road connecting Kwame Danso, Dwankrom, and Lassi as being in a particularly bad condition, rendering it impassable at night.
Speaking with Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, Mr. Khaari Fuseini said, this situation has led to communities being cut off during heavy rains, causing significant hardship for residents who rely on these roads for access to healthcare, markets, and other necessities. The poor road conditions have also resulted in increased transportation costs and damage to vehicles.
Furthermore, Mr. Fuseini’s concerns extend beyond basic transportation infrastructure. The lack of access to higher education, particularly health workers, was also highlighted as a major challenge, impacting the quality of education in the district.
He therefore, assured the residents of his commitment to ensure that all roads in the area became motorable to enhance economic activities in the districts.
