The site handover marks the beginning of preparations for the next phase of the project, which is expected to boost economic activity and create employment opportunities within the municipality.
Speaking during the exercise, the Municipal Chief Executive for Ablekuma North, Kalamu Adamu Musah, described the occasion as a significant milestone in the municipality's drive towards economic transformation.
He explained that although the Assembly is ready to commence construction, the official sod-cutting ceremony will take place after the President conducts the nationwide sod-cutting exercise for 24-Hour Market projects in the Greater Accra Region.
According to the MCE, aligning the municipality's timeline with the national programme demonstrates Ablekuma North's commitment to the broader vision of modernising infrastructure and promoting a vibrant 24-hour economy.
Mr. Musah expressed confidence that the project would go beyond providing a marketplace, noting that it would serve as a round-the-clock commercial hub that creates opportunities for traders, entrepreneurs and residents while contributing to local economic growth.
