The initiative forms part of the government’s “Nkoko Nketenkete” programme under His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama’s Big Push Agenda, aimed at supporting livelihoods and promoting economic empowerment through local poultry production.

The intervention also seeks to enhance food security, reduce unemployment, and improve income generation among residents, particularly women, youth, and vulnerable groups.

Beneficiaries were selected in groups based on their interest in poultry farming and their capacity to manage and sustain the project effectively. The distribution exercise was carried out under the supervision of the MCE, Hon. Ransford Owusu Boakye, with support from agricultural extension officers.

The distribution of the “Nkoko Nketenkete” birds represents a significant step toward grassroots development in the New Juaben South Municipality. The initiative underscores the commitment of the municipal leadership to improving livelihoods and promoting sustainable economic growth.
