The equipment was officially distributed at the Kwadaso Agricultural College in Kumasi under a partnership between the World Food Programme (WFP), the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Ministry of Food and Agriculture.
Beneficiary institutions are the Kwadaso, Wenchi, Ejura, Damongo and Ohawu Agricultural Colleges.
The equipment includes drones, soil testing devices and Internet of Things (IoT) sensors designed to support precision farming, improve data collection and enhance evidence-based decision-making in agriculture.
The initiative is expected to strengthen practical training in the colleges by integrating digital technologies and modern farming techniques into their curricula.
It will also equip students and instructors with the skills required to apply technology to agricultural production and contribute to a more productive and technology-driven agricultural sector.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to modernise agricultural education and prepare the next generation of farmers and agricultural professionals to respond effectively to emerging challenges in the sector.
