The beneficiaries, after undergoing intensive training, were also presented with start-up kits to support them in establishing their own small-scale businesses.
The initiative was funded by the Mastercard Foundation and implemented by the Ghana Enterprises Agency as part of efforts to equip young people with employable and income-generating skills.
According to the Assembly, the programme specifically targets youth between the ages of 15 and 25 to help reduce unemployment and create sustainable economic opportunities.
Officials indicated that the intervention forms part of government’s broader agenda of youth empowerment, job creation, and local economic development across Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies.
The Assembly expressed confidence that the support provided would enable beneficiaries to establish viable businesses, improve livelihoods, and contribute meaningfully to economic growth within the municipality.
Beneficiaries of the programme also expressed gratitude for the opportunity, describing the initiative as a life-changing intervention that would help them achieve financial independence and self-reliance.
