He said the facility had been excluded from the previous phases of the project.

Nana Brembi II also appealed for the construction of a Junior High School (JHS) to complement the primary school already provided in the community.

He made the appeal at Appiatse when Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, and other stakeholders cut the sod to commence Phase Three of the redevelopment project.

The Chief further urged the government to expedite the payment of outstanding land compensation to affected community members.

Describing the commencement of Phase Three as a significant milestone, Nana Brembi said the redevelopment was not merely about constructing houses but also about restoring security, dignity, a sense of belonging, privacy and stability to families affected by the disaster.

He praised the government, the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, the Appiatse Reconstruction and Fund Management Committee, traditional authorities, the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipal Assembly, local implementation structures and other partners for their contributions to the redevelopment process.

He also commended the people of Appiatse for their patience, resilience and cooperation throughout the redevelopment process.

Nana Brembi noted that some commitments previously made to the community had been fulfilled and expressed confidence that the remaining aspects of the redevelopment would also be completed.
