The security is considered as a major bolster to meaningful development. As society grows, a number of security challenges are encountered: it’s in this light that the Ghana Police Service through its depot at the district controls crime and ensures that there is peace and just among the people. The law court is also there to ensure that people have access to justice in any given circumstances.

Traditional Authorities

There are three traditional Areas in the District. These are Akyem Kotoku, Akyem Abuakwa and Akyem Bosome. The predominant among them is the Kotoku Traditional Authority, which consists over 85% of the people. There are no delivery vans; hence there is irregular collection of mails, from the nearest general post office at Nkwakaw, New Abirem and Oda.
