PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS
The District is situated in the tropical continental climatic zone with mean-annual temperature ranging between 28 degrees Celsius to 31 degrees Celsius. It experiences a single rainy season which starts in June and end in October giving way to a long dry season from November to May. Rainfall pattern is erratic and varies from year to year resulting sometimes in intermittent droughts and floods. Generally the annual rainfall ranges between 900 -1,100mm.
