Three-Level Healthcare Structure Driving Quality Care

Health delivery in the district follows a three-tier system designed to promote efficiency and quick access.

• Level One: Ten (10) well-distributed Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds led by trained Community Health Officers.

• Level Two: Two (2) Health Centres providing expanded clinical services.

• Level Three: A district referral hospital, serving as the final point for advanced treatment and emergency care.

This system places Akatsi North among the districts actively pushing toward Ghana’s goal of universal healthcare coverage.

Community Outreach: Health Services on the Move

In a district where many communities are spread out, Akatsi North is bridging the gap with mobile outreach services, ensuring that healthcare reaches even the most remote households. These services are delivered through:

The District Health Directorate oversees all health activities, ensuring smooth coordination across the district’s 12 health facilities. With two Health Centres and ten CHPS compounds, Akatsi North is building a health system anchored on accessibility, prevention, and community partnership.
