Akatsi North Rises: District Expands Education Front to Secure a Brighter Future

Education remains at the heart of development in Akatsi North, where leaders continue to invest in schools as a pathway to improving the quality of life for children and families. Strong Foundation with 37 Pre-Schools

Akatsi North is laying a powerful foundation for early childhood education. The district currently hosts 37 pre-schools, including 31 public and 6 private facilities. These centres provide the essential early learning environment required to nurture curiosity and cognitive development among young learners.

Expanding Access Through 35 Primary Schools

The commitment to broadening educational access continues with 35 primary schools spread across the district, 30 public and 5 private. This ensures that school-age children in even the most remote communities have a place to receive quality basic education.

Junior High Schools Supporting the Next Stage

To strengthen the transition from basic to secondary education, Akatsi North has established 30 Junior High Schools, made up of 27 public and 3 private institutions. Relative to the district's population, this number provides a somewhat adequate spread of basic school facilities, reducing the burden of long distances and overcrowding.

Pathways to Higher Learning and Skills Training

The district’s education landscape is rounded off with one Senior High School and one Vocational and Technical School, giving students access to both academic and hands-on training. These institutions are critical for preparing the youth for further studies, job opportunities and entrepreneurial ventures.
