Police investigate murder of 16-year-old boy at Amasu, Bono Region.

The Bono Regional Police Command has commenced investigations into the murder of a 16-year-old boy, Issahaku Ansu on 31st August 2025 at Amasu in the Dormaa Central Municipality of the Bono Region. Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim was murdered at an illegal mining site by unknown assailants.

In a press release issued by the Regional Command and signed by the Public Relations Officer, Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, noted that upon receipt of the information, Police officers swiftly proceeded to the scene, where the body was found with multiple gunshots wounds at the back and blood oozing from the nostrils. Further investigations suggested that the victim was shot from nearby bushes while engaged in illegal mining activities, causing others at the site to flee. The victim was wearing a wine-colored pair of boxer shorts soaked with blood, which has been retained as exhibit.

The body has since been transported to the Dormaa Ahenkro Presbyterian Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.

The Police Command has assured the public, particularly residents of Amasu and its surrounding communities that every effort is being made to apprehend the perpetrators of the heinous crime.
