The committee is chaired by Togbe Dzegblade IV, Dufia of Adaklu Kodzobi.

The appointment was announced in a letter issued by the Council and signed by its Registrar, Mr. Foli Mawutor.

According to the letter, the appointment was made by Togbega Gbogbi Atsa V, President of the Adaklu Traditional Council and Paramount Chief of Adaklu, in recognition of Togbe Dzegblade IV's compassionate service, strong community spirit, and unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of the people of the Adaklu Traditional Area.

The Council expressed confidence that his leadership would enhance the welfare and living conditions of residents, particularly vulnerable and disadvantaged members of the community.

The committee has been tasked with identifying and addressing the welfare needs of residents, with special attention to the elderly, persons with disabilities, widows, orphans, and other vulnerable groups.

Its responsibilities also include developing and supervising welfare programmes and social support initiatives on behalf of the Traditional Council, collaborating with government agencies, non-governmental organisations, and development partners to mobilise resources for community welfare, and receiving, reviewing, and responding to welfare petitions and appeals submitted to the Council.

Additionally, the committee is expected to maintain accurate records of welfare interventions, submit regular reports to the Traditional Council, and perform any other duties assigned by the Paramount Chief and the Council.

"The Council looks forward to your invaluable contributions and wishes you every success in this esteemed role," the appointment letter stated.

The letter was copied to the Registrar of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs.

Speaking after his appointment, Togbe Dzegblade IV described the responsibility as enormous but expressed confidence that, with the support of his fellow committee members, they would justify the trust reposed in them.

He disclosed that although the committee comprises five members, additional individuals with relevant expertise would be co-opted to strengthen its work and ensure effective delivery on its mandate.

Togbe Dzegblade IV also appealed to residents of the Adaklu Traditional Area to support the committee in its efforts to improve the welfare of the community.
