They cited the poor state of roads, the absence of a health facility, and the lack of a perimeter fence around the Kpedzakope Basic School as major obstacles to the community's development and the well-being of residents.

Mr Romeo Selikem Owusu, Assembly Member for the Kpedzakope Electoral Area, said the community's most urgent needs were the rehabilitation of its internal roads, the establishment of a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound, and the construction of a fence wall around the basic school.

Speaking in an interview, Mr Owusu said the absence of a health facility forced residents, particularly pregnant women, children and the elderly, to travel long distances to access healthcare services.

He noted that delays in receiving medical attention often placed lives at risk and stressed the need for a CHPS compound to provide accessible primary healthcare services within the community.

Touching on road infrastructure, he said most of the roads in Kpedzakope remained unpaved and were in a deplorable condition, making transportation difficult, especially during the rainy season.

He explained that inadequate drainage systems frequently caused flooding, cutting off sections of the community and disrupting economic activities such as trading and transportation.

Mr Owusu also raised concerns about safety at the Kpedzakope Basic School, which has no perimeter fence.

According to him, the lack of a fence exposes pupils to dangers, including stray animals entering the school compound, thereby compromising their safety and creating an unconducive learning environment.

Traditional authorities, including Torgbui Atsu Awuaba V and Torgbui Hodah Alagba, backed the appeal and called on the Government, the Ketu South Municipal Assembly, the area's Member of Parliament, non-governmental organisations, philanthropists and indigenes of the area to support efforts to address the community's challenges.

The traditional leaders expressed confidence that investments in healthcare, road infrastructure and education would significantly improve living conditions and accelerate the socio-economic development of Kpedzakope and surrounding communities.
