The move forms part of the ongoing implementation of the policy aimed at boosting economic activity and expanding job opportunities across the country. A recent site inspection was conducted to assess the suitability of the location and review project plans.
During the visit, a consultant briefed the District Chief Executive (DCE), Courage Kokroko, and his management team on the project’s structural design, proposed facilities, and implementation timeline. The project is expected to be completed within three years from the date of inspection.

The proposed model market will feature modern trading stalls, storage facilities, improved sanitation systems, childcare centres, a police post, fire service station, health clinic, and designated daycare services for traders. Additional infrastructure will include lorry parks for loading activities, digital payment systems, waste collection points, and spaces designed to support both daytime and nighttime trading.
Expressing satisfaction with the progress made so far, Mr. Kokroko reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to ensuring the smooth execution of the project. He commended the consultant and his team for their professionalism and assured that the Assembly would continue to prioritise initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods in the district.

The site visit marks a significant step toward the commencement of construction, bringing residents of South Dayi—particularly those in Kpeve—closer to benefiting from a modern marketplace under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama.
