N JUABEN SOUTH: 2,200 Candidates to sit for BECE

About two thousand two hundred (2,200) candidates from both public and private schools sat for this year’s examinations in the New Juaben South Municipality of the Eastern region.

Out of this figure, One thousand (1,009) are males and one thousand one hundred and ninety-two (1,192) are females writing in four different exam centres namely; Pentecost preparatory school, New Juaben Senior High School, Oti Boateng Senior High School, and Koforidua Senior High/Technical school all in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Ransford Owusu Boakye together with the Directors of Education, Mrs. Ivy Asantewa Owusu (Eastern Regional Education Director) and Mr. Haruna Appiah Yussif (Municipal Education Director) paid a visit to the four exam centres to encourage and motivate the candidates ahead of the exams.

Addressing the candidates, the MCE for New Juaben South encouraged them to work hard, focus, write and pass well to make their parents and the Municipality proud.

He added, "Put fears behind you, go to the room and go for gold".

As form of motivation, the MCE hinted that the Assembly is planning to award candidates who perform creditably in various subjects this year.

Also addressing the candidates, the Regional Education Director, Mrs. lvy Asantewa Owusu gave her words of encouragement to the candidates to persevere and focus on their books in order to pass their exams.

She then advised them to abstain from any form of exam malpractice, adding that the region intends to go zero examination malpractice this year.
