The beneficiaries received cash and various livelihood items aimed at improving their socio-economic wellbeing. While some said they would invest the support in poultry farming, others indicated they would use it for trading, agriculture, healthcare, and educational purposes.

Presenting the items on behalf of the Assembly, the District Chief Executive, Hon. Effah Patrick (Patoo), reaffirmed the government's commitment to implementing programmes that empower persons with disabilities, reduce their vulnerabilities, and improve their standard of living.

He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the support to improve their livelihoods and become economically self-reliant.

"This is the fifth tranche of the District Assembly Common Fund disbursement since the government took office. We are doing everything possible to support persons with disabilities and reduce the challenges they face," he said.

Hon. Effah Patrick also commended President John Dramani Mahama for increasing the allocation of the Disability Fund under the District Assembly Common Fund from three percent to five percent, describing the increment as a demonstration of the government's commitment to improving the welfare of persons with disabilities across the country.

The DCE further announced that the Assembly had secured land for the construction of a workshop for persons with disabilities. The facility is expected to serve as a centre for skills training, vocational development, and other income-generating activities to enhance their economic independence.

The support forms part of the Assembly's ongoing efforts to promote social inclusion, economic empowerment, and sustainable livelihoods for persons with disabilities in the Nkoranza North District.
