The initiative forms part of the Assembly's continuous efforts to educate residents on HIV prevention, encourage early testing and treatment, and foster greater acceptance and support for people living with the virus.

Addressing participants, the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Stephen Awuni Azorba reaffirmed the Assembly's commitment to supporting health interventions that improve the well-being of residents. He noted that the Government provides quarterly funding to support HIV prevention and public sensitisation programmes across the district.

He urged community members to rely on accurate information about HIV, refrain from stigmatising or discriminating against people living with the virus, and instead demonstrate compassion, care and understanding.

Officials from the Dormaa West Health Directorate took participants through the modes of HIV transmission, preventive measures, the importance of regular HIV testing, and the availability of treatment services. They also encouraged residents to take advantage of testing and counselling services, stressing that early diagnosis and adherence to treatment improve health outcomes and help prevent further transmission.
