DCE Hands Over Site for Construction of 24-Hour Economy Market at Akroso

The District Chief Executive for Asene Manso Akroso District, Eric Ahinakwa, has officially handed over the site for the construction of the proposed 24-Hour Economy Market at Akroso to contractors ahead of the commencement of works.

The exercise formed part of preparatory activities toward the official sod-cutting ceremony for the transformative market project, which is expected to boost commercial activities and stimulate economic growth within the district.

Hon. Eric Ahinakwa, together with the project contractors, visited the site to assess the readiness of the area and review implementation plans to ensure the successful execution of the project.

The proposed market is expected to provide improved trading spaces, create employment opportunities, and support government’s 24-Hour Economy policy aimed at promoting continuous economic activity and local enterprise development.

During the visit, the DCE emphasized the Assembly’s commitment to ensuring that the project is delivered according to approved standards and timelines to maximize benefits for traders and residents within Akroso and surrounding communities.

The contractors also assured the Assembly of their readiness to begin preparatory works and collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of the project.

The upcoming sod-cutting ceremony is expected to bring together government officials, traditional authorities, Assembly Members, traders, and residents to officially launch the commencement of the flagship development project within the district.
