The exercise saw the DCE engage Landing Beach Committees and residents in communities including Woe, Tegbi, Atorkor, Dzita, and Atiteti. The initiative focused on ensuring that proceeds from the sale of premix fuel are properly accounted for and benefit the communities where the fuel is distributed.

According to the DCE, particular attention is being given to guaranteeing that 53 percent of revenue generated from premix fuel sales—allocated to local communities—is duly deposited into designated bank accounts and utilized for development projects.

The tour concluded with visits to Srogboe, Atorkor, and Whuti, where she was joined by the Anlo Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress.

Describing the exercise as insightful, the DCE noted that it provided an opportunity to better understand both the challenges and benefits associated with premix fuel distribution in the district’s coastal areas.

She also issued a strong warning to Landing Beach Committees to strictly adhere to guidelines governing the disbursement of the community’s 53 percent share from each consignment received.

As part of efforts to strengthen accountability, the DCE announced that all Landing Beach Committee accounts will soon undergo comprehensive audits by external auditors, covering the period from 2017 to 2026.
