Under the initiative, NHIA officials will visit markets, schools, churches, and homes to register new members and renew expired cards, ensuring more Ghanaians benefit from free and quality healthcare.

Speaking at the launch in Nsawam Adoagyiri, the Eastern Regional Director of the NHIA, Frank Addo, emphasized the importance of the campaign, noting that current membership stands at about 73 percent of the region’s population. He expressed confidence that the campaign would help achieve the 80 percent target by the end of 2025.

Mr. Addo also urged residents to take advantage of the opportunity to register and warned health facilities against engaging in copayments or illegal charges, which he said undermine the purpose of the scheme.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nsawam Adoagyiri, Philibert Fummey, commended the NHIA for the initiative and encouraged residents to enroll in the scheme. He also appealed to stakeholders to support the Authority in addressing challenges facing the program.

Mr. Fummey further revealed that the municipal assembly would soon commence the construction of an ultra-modern NHIA office complex to provide a conducive working environment for staff and improve service delivery.
