Electricity access in the Afigya-Kwabre South District has seen significant progress, with almost all communities connected to the national grid.

However, Mposu and Odumakyi communities remain unconnected, and many new suburbs in other communities still lack electricity, highlighting the need for further grid expansion.
Electricity is vital not only for households but also for supporting the district’s small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs), which form a major part of the Assembly’s internally generated funds (IGF). Businesses such as welders, metal fabricators, and provision shops rely heavily on a stable power supply to operate efficiently.
Expanding electricity coverage to unconnected areas and new suburbs will not only improve quality of life for residents but also boost local economic activity by empowering SMEs and other income-generating ventures.
