The commissioning ceremony, held at Kolik, brought together traditional leaders, community members, health officials, and other stakeholders to officially hand over the facility for public use.

The newly commissioned CHPS compound is expected to serve about 44 communities within the Kolik Electoral Area, bringing essential healthcare services closer to residents and reducing the burden of travelling long distances to access medical care.

The facility comprises an Outpatient Department (OPD), consulting rooms, male and female wards, and modern medical equipment to facilitate effective healthcare delivery. It also includes two fully furnished accommodation units for health personnel to ensure the continuous provision of healthcare services.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Abdul-Hafiz Adam described the project as a significant milestone in the municipality's efforts to expand access to quality healthcare and improve the well-being of residents.

He appealed to the beneficiary communities to take ownership of the facility and ensure its proper maintenance to guarantee its long-term sustainability and continued service delivery.

The MCE further urged residents to uphold peace, unity, and social cohesion, stressing that peaceful coexistence remains critical to attracting additional development projects to the area.

A representative of the Chief of Kolik, speaking on behalf of the community, expressed profound appreciation to the Municipal Chief Executive and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government for providing the community with what he described as a modern and befitting health facility.

He assured the MCE that the people of Kolik and surrounding communities would take good care of the facility and support efforts to ensure its effective utilization for the benefit of present and future generations.

The commissioning of the CHPS compound forms part of broader efforts to strengthen primary healthcare delivery and improve access to essential health services, particularly in underserved and rural communities within the Gushegu Municipality.
