Kassena-Nankana MCE Joins Launch of Free Primary Health Care Policy

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Kassena-Nankana Municipality, Hon. Faustina A. Abulu, has joined the Ghana Health Service and other key stakeholders at the Navrongo Health Centre for the official launch of the Government's Free Primary Health Care Policy, a flagship initiative aimed at expanding access to quality healthcare services for all citizens.

The launch marks a significant step in the government's efforts to strengthen the healthcare system by removing financial barriers that prevent vulnerable populations from accessing essential primary healthcare services.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Faustina Abulu commended health professionals across the municipality for their dedication, resilience, and unwavering commitment to delivering quality healthcare despite the numerous challenges confronting the sector.

She emphasized that the implementation of the Free Primary Health Care Policy is expected to have a transformative impact on healthcare delivery, particularly for women, children, the elderly, and other vulnerable groups who often face difficulties in accessing essential medical services.

According to the MCE, the policy will not only improve access to healthcare but also contribute significantly to better health outcomes and enhanced quality of life for residents across the municipality.

Hon. Abulu further appealed to health workers to remain patient, compassionate, and committed as the programme is rolled out, stressing that their professionalism and dedication would be critical to the successful implementation of the initiative.

She reaffirmed the Assembly's commitment to supporting the Ghana Health Service and other stakeholders to ensure the effective implementation of the policy and improve healthcare delivery across the municipality.
