Over 600 candidates to sit this year's BECE in the Adaklu district

The number is made up of 322 males and 356 females. Ms Judith Makafui Kuagbonu, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Adaklu District Directorate of Education disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Adaklu Waya on Wednesday.
She stated that the candidates were from 34 schools made up of 32 public schools and two private schools.
Ms Kuagbonu continued that 658 of the candidates comprising 312 males and 346 were from the public schools whilst 20 made up 10 males and 10 females were from the two private schools.
She said the district has two examination centres which she named Gbekor Senior High School at Adaklu Abuadi and Adaklu Senior High School at Adaklu Waya.
The PRO stated that 356 of the candidates comprising 184 males and 172 females would be writing their examination at the Gbekor Senior High School centre whilst 322 candidates made up of 138 males and 184 females would be at the Adaklu Senior High School centre.
She said there was no visually nor hearing impaired among the candidates.
Ms Kuagbonu said their major challenge was accommodation for the candidates as their schools were far from the examination centres.
She advised the candidates to refrain from sending foreign materials to the examination rooms adding" if you are caught the full weight of the law will be applied."
The PRO entreated teachers to allow the candidates to do independent work so as to bring the best out of them.
"Give your students room to work independently to bring out what you taught them," she stated.
Ms Kuagbonu disclosed that the examination would start on Wednesday, 11th June with Social Studies and Computing and ended on Tuesday, 17th June with French and Creative Arts papers but added that candidates writing Arabic paper would end on Wednesday, 18th June.
