National Tragedy Indeed - Ghana loses Defence, Environment Ministers, and six other patriots
The Chief of staff, Julius Debrah has announced the demise of eight persons in Wednesday’s helicopter crash at Adansi Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region.

The victims including five government officials and three crew members on an Air Force helicopter were from Accra en route to Obuasi for a programme.
The eight include:
1. Dr Edward Omane Boamah - Minister for Defence
2. Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed - Minister for Environment
3. Alhaji Muniru Mohammed - Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator
4. Dr Samuel Sarpong - Vice Chairman, NDC
5. Mr Samuel Aboagye - Former Parliamentary candidate
6. Squadron leader Peter
7. Flying Officer Twum Ampadu
8. Sergeant Ernest Addo

The Chief of Staff described the incident as a national tragedy and directed all flags to fly at half-mast.
