This initiative aims to revive commercial activities in the metropolis and alleviate congestion.
During an inspection tour of the site on Wednesday, the Mayor was joined by the Greater Accra Regional Minister, Madam Lydia Akweley Obenewaa Ocloo, and the Member of Parliament for the Odododiodioo Constituency, Alfred Nii Kotey Ashie.
The Mayor expressed his strong desire to see the Salaga Market fully operational, stating that he expects traders to begin their activities by the end of January, even as finishing touches are applied to the project.

Starting Monday, the Assembly will initiate the necessary processes to allocate shops to traders, with plans to move some into the new structures by January.
To enhance safety and operational efficiency, the Mayor announced additional measures, including the installation of more lights to improve visibility and security within the market.
He emphasized that the allocation of shops will be conducted strictly by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), without the involvement of middlemen or agents.
“There will be no agents or middlemen involved in allocating the shops, so please do not engage with anyone or pay money to any individual. If you want a shop to sell in, come directly to the AMA. You will be given a shop because you are a Ghanaian, so I urge you not to go through anyone,” he cautioned.
