The support, which has become an annual initiative of the Assembly, saw a total of ten deep freezers distributed to selected beneficiaries who requested the items to support their income-generating activities.
Speaking at a brief presentation ceremony held at the forecourt of the Assembly, the District Chief Executive, Hon. Gariba Mustapha Mohammed, congratulated the beneficiaries and assured them of the Assembly's continued support.
He noted that the government remains committed to improving the welfare of Persons with Disabilities and expressed confidence that various policies and interventions being implemented by President John Dramani Mahama's administration would further enhance their quality of life.

Hon. Gariba urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the items to improve their businesses and livelihoods, emphasizing that the support was intended to help them become more economically independent.
The District Officer for Social Welfare and Community Development, Mr. Maxwell Adu Gyamfi, disclosed that the department has received about 500 requests from Persons with Disabilities across the district and is working diligently to ensure that beneficiaries receive the support they need.
He further indicated that the department would conduct periodic monitoring visits to ensure that the items are used for their intended purposes and to assess their impact on the lives of the beneficiaries.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, recipients expressed their appreciation to the District Chief Executive, the District Coordinating Director, Mr. David Kofi Dokli, the Social Welfare and Community Development Department, and the management of the Assembly for their continued support and commitment to improving the welfare of Persons with Disabilities in the district.
