Mr Dagba disclosed this during the second phase of his Accountability Series, which was aimed at updating residents on the Assembly’s development interventions and promoting transparency and citizen participation in local governance.

On revenue mobilisation, the MCE said the Assembly exceeded its 2025 target of GH¢1.39 million by generating GH¢1.64 million, representing 117.47 per cent performance.

He added that the Assembly was also making progress in 2026, recording 36.40 per cent performance in the first quarter, with a projected 45.60 per cent increase over the baseline.

In the health sector, Mr Dagba said the Assembly had initiated the construction of CHPS compounds and nurses’ accommodation at Zuta and Ahlepedo.

Three mechanised boreholes had also been drilled at Akeve Gui, Gefia and Dzogadze to improve access to potable water at health facilities.

Renovation works at the Wute Health Centre are ongoing, while the Assembly has completed several legacy projects, including nurses’ accommodation at Wute, a medical consultant’s bungalow at the Municipal Hospital, and the Asafotsi CHPS compound and nurses’ quarters.

The education sector has also received attention, with the completion of a six-unit classroom block at Zuta and three-unit classroom blocks at Alorkpa and Glikpome.

Other ongoing projects include a two-unit kindergarten block at Dzuepe and classroom and ancillary facilities at Duawodome, Akeve Gui, Dzogadze and Anyiheme.

At the Avenor Technical Institute, construction is ongoing on a two-storey, 12-unit classroom block and a six-unit workshop to strengthen technical and vocational education.

The MCE further disclosed that major projects at Akatsi Senior High Technical School, including a two-storey dormitory, a three-storey teachers’ bungalow and a 12-unit toilet facility for girls, were ongoing.

A 306-capacity boys’ dormitory and a two-storey classroom block had already been completed as legacy projects.

In the water and sanitation sector, the Assembly has constructed and mechanised 20 boreholes in health facilities and communities to improve access to water and promote better hygiene.

Mr Dagba also highlighted road reshaping works being undertaken on several important routes, including roads within Akatsi township, the Akatsi-Wuxor road, Lume Avete-Kpota-Dzavega-Ohawu route and other feeder roads linking farming communities to markets.

A culvert has also been constructed between Agapet and Akatsi through Anyiheme to the bypass and Old Xavi road to improve accessibility and reduce flooding.

On security, the MCE said the Assembly had completed a Police Commander’s bungalow as part of measures to strengthen law enforcement presence in the municipality.

Mr Dagba explained that the Accountability Series was intended to promote transparency, enable residents to track development outcomes and deepen public participation in local governance.

He urged residents to honour their tax obligations, stressing that internally generated funds were essential to sustaining development projects and improving service delivery.

He further called on communities to take ownership of development projects and ensure the regular maintenance of public facilities.

The MCE also encouraged traditional authorities, civil society organisations and other stakeholders to collaborate with the Assembly to maximise the impact of development interventions.

He reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to inclusive development, with future interventions expected to focus on youth employment, education, healthcare delivery and infrastructure expansion across the municipality.
