The support was provided at a disability fund programme held at Jachie Main Street on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

The programme brought together the District Chief Executive (DCE) Hon. Abdullah Hamidu, Assembly officials, the Chief of Jachie and his elders, the Assembly Member, Social Welfare officers, leaders of PWD groups, beneficiaries and members of the Jachie community.

Beneficiaries received various items, including deep freezers, sewing machines, fufu-making machines, laptops and other work tools, alongside start-up capital to establish or expand their businesses.

The intervention is aimed at empowering PWDs with the resources needed to engage in income-generating activities, become financially independent and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

The beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the Assembly and the government for the support, describing it as an important step towards improving their economic circumstances.

They pledged to put the items and financial assistance to good use to sustain their businesses and improve their living conditions.
