The project is expected to enhance access to quality and timely healthcare services for residents of Akotsi and surrounding communities, many of whom currently travel long distances to access medical care.

Speaking during the sod-cutting ceremony, the DCE noted that the construction of the health facility forms part of efforts by the Assembly to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and improve the wellbeing of the people.

According to the Assembly, the completion of the health centre is expected to ease the burden on existing health facilities while ensuring rapid and efficient healthcare services for community members, especially women, children, and the elderly.

Residents who witnessed the ceremony expressed optimism that the facility would address long-standing healthcare challenges and improve emergency response within the area.

The Akotsi Health Centre project is also expected to contribute to the government’s broader agenda of expanding healthcare access and promoting quality healthcare delivery across communities in the country.
