Nyamekrom to Get New Police Station to Strengthen Security

The construction of a new Police Station at Nyamekrom, a community in the New Juaben South Municipality has officially commenced following a sod-cutting ceremony held on Monday, August 31, 2026.

The ceremony brought together traditional leaders, the Assembly Member, residents of Nyamekrom, representatives of the Ghana Police Service and other key stakeholders to mark the beginning of the project.

In his address, the Municipal Chief Executive, Ranford Owusu Boakye stated that the new police facility is expected to strengthen security within Nyamekrom and surrounding communities by increasing police presence and improving the response to security incidents.

The project will also provide a stronger platform for collaboration between the Ghana Police Service and residents in addressing security concerns and promoting peace within the area.

The Assembly has pledged its support for the successful implementation of the project, stressing the importance of completing the facility so it can serve its intended purpose.

The Assembly further reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with traditional authorities, security agencies and residents to promote peace, security and the general wellbeing of communities across the Municipality.
