The Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Sebastian Deh, yesterday led a team including the contractor and Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Killian Donkor on an assessment tour of several strategic roads earmarked for construction.
The roads inspected include the vital Kpando Torkor road, the route from Dzigbe to Gborfe Dzewoe, the Eco road, and the access road to the Bishop Herman Campus. The tour was aimed at finalizing preparatory plans before work begins in earnest.
“The contractor is currently mobilizing resources to fully move to site,” Hon. Deh confirmed during the inspection. He expressed profound gratitude to former President Mahama and the Roads Minister for their role in securing the projects for the constituency.
Economic and Regional Connectivity Promised
Local authorities highlight that the projects are more than just infrastructure upgrades; they are catalysts for economic revival. The roads are expected to boost local trade, facilitate the movement of agricultural produce, and create more convenient access to the Eastern Region, potentially opening new markets and opportunities.
“These are strategic roads that will bolster economic activities and improve the quality of life for our people,” stated Hon. Killian Donkor, the Municipal Chief Executive, who guided the touring team. He praised the collaborative effort between the MP’s office and the local assembly in bringing the projects to fruition.
MP Pledges Continued Advocacy
Following the extensive tour, Hon. Sebastian Deh assured constituents of his unwavering commitment to attracting further development. He promised to “continue lobbying for more projects in the coming years,” emphasizing his dedication to addressing the constituency’s infrastructure deficit.
The mobilization of the contractor signals an imminent start to construction. Residents and commuters in the affected areas are now awaiting a detailed timeline for the works, which promise to alleviate long-standing transportation challenges in the municipality.
