The newly delivered desks are currently undergoing fitting and preparation and will soon be handed over to the Talensi District Education Directorate for distribution to beneficiary schools across the district.
The intervention forms part of the Assembly’s efforts to address the persistent shortage of furniture in schools and provide pupils with a more conducive environment for effective teaching and learning.
The first batch of 600 dual desks has already been fitted and handed over for distribution, while the completion of the second batch will make all 1,200 desks available to schools in need.
The Talensi District Assembly is expected to commence the next phase of the furniture procurement programme soon, with the aim of extending support to more schools and further reducing the furniture deficit across the district.
The initiative underscores the Assembly’s commitment to investing in education and improving learning conditions for children across Talensi.
