The intervention forms part of proactive measures by the Assembly to ensure that schools are adequately prepared ahead of the commencement of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), which begins today.
According to the Assembly, the distribution was necessary to address urgent infrastructural needs in selected schools and to create a conducive environment for effective teaching and learning, particularly as final-year students prepare to sit for their examinations.
Hon. Abdul Ganiyu Ibrahim, together with Assembly Members, is expected to continue the distribution exercise this morning, extending support to additional schools across the municipality to ensure that more institutions benefit from the initiative.
The MCE reaffirmed his commitment to improving educational infrastructure within Ayawaso East, emphasizing that quality education remains a top priority of the Assembly’s development agenda.
He noted that providing adequate furniture and learning resources is key to enhancing academic performance and ensuring that pupils are well-prepared for national examinations.
The initiative has been widely welcomed by stakeholders in the education sector, who described it as timely and impactful, especially at a critical period in the academic calendar.
The Ayawaso East Municipal Assembly has pledged its continuous support for the education sector as part of broader efforts to improve teaching and learning conditions and promote academic excellence in the municipality
