Bawku: Regional Minister Commissions New JHS Block at Buobula Primary School

The facility, commissioned as part of the Minister’s “Accounting to the People” tour of the Upper East Region, comprises three classrooms, an office and store, a staff common room and a washroom.

Each of the three classrooms has been furnished to accommodate 75 students, providing a total seating capacity of 225 students.

Until the completion of the facility, Buobula Primary School had no JHS section, forcing pupils who completed their primary education in the community to travel to Zaugo Junior High School, about 20 minutes away, to continue their education.

The new JHS block is therefore expected to ease the burden on pupils and parents while improving access to basic education in the community.

With the facility now available, pupils who complete their primary education at Buobula will be able to continue their basic education within the community without travelling to Zaugo.

The project forms part of ongoing efforts to improve educational infrastructure and expand access to quality basic education across the Bawku Municipality and the Upper East Region.
